About the Meals

Delivery Timing

Meals are delivered by our volunteer drivers Monday through Friday between 11:00 a.m. and 12:15 p.m.

Mobile Meals offers flexibility in meal delivery schedules to accommodate the preferences and needs of our recipients. While the majority of our recipients receive meals from Monday through Friday, we understand that individual circumstances may vary. As such, recipients have the option to choose the specific day(s) of the week they would like to receive meals.

Schedule & Holidays

The hospital prepares meals for us Monday through Friday with the exception of observed holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, the day after Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day. For holidays that fall on a Saturday or Sunday, meals are not provided on the observed weekday holiday.

About the Food

The food we provide is delivered in disposable containers.

The meal will consist of an entrée, vegetable, starch and a dessert.

Soup or salad may be ordered for an additional $1.50 per meal. The menu will indicate what days salad or soup can be ordered.

Dietary Accommodations

The hospital cannot accommodate food allergies and other dietary requests except for vegetarian and dysphagia IDDSI level 4 and 5. Diabetic recipients may be offered two vegetables in place of starch and fruit in lieu of dessert, if desired. No other accommodation will be made.

Each Mobile Meals recipient is responsible for monitoring their own meals and intake.

Generous food portions are provided and are often enough for both lunch and dinner.
